Creative Nonfiction Blog Project

One of the projects assigned to students in her Creative Nonfiction classes is to create a blog, write one post per week, and apply appropriate tags for search engine visibility.  This is to get students writing about a self-chosen topic weekly and to teach them how to build a writing platform for themselves should they decide to pursue writing seriously.  Here is a link to one student’s blog about Corvids:

Creative Nonfiction Author’s Website Final Project

At the end of Dr. Arini’s Creative Nonfiction classes, student’s take their four CN pieces they wrote for the class, put them in magazine format, combine them with images and load them onto a Google, Weebly, or other type of website they create.  They must also link up their blog project and put up their Writer’s Market Reports.  Students also incorporate their other creative endeavors onto their site as well depending upon their particular interests. Each semester, Dr. Arini enjoys facilitating her student’s writing and assisting them in creating group magazines, which showcase the articles/research papers they worked on all semester. She acts as editor for these creations and publishes them online.
